YOUTH WEEK 2008 – Watch the Film UGLY here
Dargaville high school students have spent Youth Week shooting a short film for their community.
The film, produced by 1914media Trust; an Auckland based film trust, was Written and Directed by student Eden Gray and tells the story of a young girl battling with an eating disorder.
The students spent just a week producing the film, whilst learning the ins and outs of digital filmmaking.
Instructors from 1914media trust have been overwhelmed by the talent of the students involved and amazed at the interest from other students, teachers and the community.
“It’s exciting to see a community come together to support such an ambitious program. The students who worked with us all week deserve a big pat on the back. Making a film in 5 days is not easy and they have done it, despite having never done it before!” said Scott Kelso, instructor for 1914media trust.
The film program was organized by 1914media trust in conjunction with Raewyn Sowter, Dargaville Youth Trust, Te Ora Hou and Dargaville High School.
A screening of the film is currently being organised and it set for a date in June.
